At the official invitation of His Excellency the President of Cairo University, and in the presence of His Eminence the Grand Mufti of Egypt, several presidents of major universities from Cairo and other cities, several members of the diplomatic corps, editors-in-chief of major Egyptian newspapers, and deans of the colleges of Cairo University, under the dome building of Cairo University, and in the presence of about 3000 guests:

His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, delivers a lecture titled: "Intellectual Developments between the East and the West". The lecture garnered the praise of His Excellency the President of the University, and a number of senior figures including His Eminence the Mufti, who described it as "a road map to correct the course of religious thought.” The university expressed that this lecture is among the memorable lectures delivered in this hall as various senior dignitaries delivered lectures there, such as the former US President Barack Obama.
