The Presidential Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina, presided over by His Excellency President Zeljko Komšić, accorded a warm reception at the presidential offices in Sarajevo to His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, the Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars.
President Komšić extended a heartfelt welcome to the representatives of the Muslim World League in Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing the crucial need for such religious leadership worldwide, known for its advocacy for peace and coexistence. He praised the MWL's sagacity in offering a broader perspective on various issues.
The Council voiced its endorsement and gratitude for the Secretary-General's efforts to foster peace and coexistence, along with his significant role in organizing this pivotal conference in Sarajevo, which the President lauded as highly impactful and successful.
In response, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa underscored Bosnia and Herzegovina's central contribution to peace and coexistence, drawing from its poignant history post-genocide war, and its standing as a global beacon of tolerance amidst political, religious, and ethnic diversity.
Both parties reiterated the critical need to combat hate speech and extremism, regardless of its origin and motives. They also explored avenues for bilateral collaboration to tackle these challenges through holistic and effective strategies and initiatives.
