At the Muslim World League’s branch office in Riyadh, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars received His Excellency Mr. Gérald Darmanin, French Interior and Overseas Minister.
Minister Darmanin asserted France's friendly relations with Islamic nations, emphasizing the crucial role of the #MuslimWorldLeague in strengthening these ties.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, in response, underscored the MWL's strong connections with the diverse religious landscape of France, particularly its Islamic community. He lauded the initiative taken by the Great Mosque of Paris in adopting programs and initiatives based on the #CharterOfMakkah. This charter, supported by over 1,200 muftis and scholars from various Islamic sects and schools of thought, marked a historic moment in contemporary Islamic history by articulating the essence of Islamic moderation in its full spectrum.
The meeting also provided a platform to explore several mutual interests. Following the discussions, Dr. Al-Issa hosted a luncheon in honor of Minister Darmanin and his delegation, further solidifying the cordial relations between the two parties.
