The Muslim World League Welcomes UN General Assembly Resolution Affirming the Palestinian People’s Right to Self-Determination

Makkah:

The Muslim World League (MWL) has welcomed the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption of a resolution affirming the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and rejecting the ongoing illegal Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.

In an official statement issued by its General Secretariat, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, lauded the resolution, emphasizing its role in renewing global recognition of the Palestinian people’s legitimate right to establish their own independent state. Dr. Al-Issa commended the nations that supported the resolution and urged the international community, including the leadership of the permanent members of the UN Security Council, to uphold their responsibilities. He called for decisive actions to implement relevant United Nations resolutions. His Excellency further stressed the importance of standing firmly with the “historical,” “humanitarian,” and “legal” rights of the Palestinian people, ensuring that these rights are realized in practice rather than confined to the deliberations of international institutions.
