Muslim World League Condemns Statements by Benjamin Netanyahu
Makkah:
The Muslim World League (MWL) has expressed strong condemnation of recent statements by Benjamin Netanyahu, wherein he called for the displacement of the people of the Gaza Strip.
In a statement issued by the MWL’s General Secretariat, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, criticized these remarks for their disregard of international norms and laws, as well as their infringement on state sovereignty. Furthermore, His Excellency reaffirmed the rights of the Palestinian people to establish an independent state on their land.
On behalf of the scholars and peoples of the Islamic world under the umbrella of the Muslim World League, His Eminence expressed strong support for the recent statements made by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, particularly those issued on February 5 and 9. These statements reaffirm Saudi Arabia’s firm and unwavering position on the establishment of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, its call for an end to the Israeli occupation, and its encouragement of peace-loving nations to recognize the State of Palestine until it achieves full United Nations membership.
His Eminence also acknowledged the significant efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting the Palestinian cause and its firm stance against the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. This includes the historic summits hosted by Saudi Arabia and its continued efforts to mobilize global support for the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state on their occupied land.
