Makkah:
Under the generous patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud—may Allah safeguard him—and near the unifying Qibla of Islam, the second edition of the most significant Islamic unifying event will commence, bringing together members of the Ummah from various schools of thought and sects. The Holy City of Makkah will host the Second Global Conference for Building Bridges Between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects, on the 6th and 7th of the upcoming holy month of Ramadan. The event is organized by the Muslim World League, with the participation of prominent muftis, scholars, intellectuals, representatives of senior scholars' councils, jurisprudential academies, and Islamic councils from various sects and schools of thought.

The conference serves as a comprehensive platform for constructive dialogue among the diverse components of the Islamic spectrum, aiming to coordinate stances, efforts, and resources for the benefit of the Islamic Ummah. It aims to move beyond futile disputes between sects—which have only deepened discord and division—by adopting a unifying approach rooted in shared principles, while upholding respect for the unique characteristics of each sect.

The second edition of this conference is set to address the most pressing Islamic issues that require joint religious contributions and efforts. Primarily, the latest developments in the Palestinian cause, the evolving situation in Syria, and the concerns of Muslim minorities. Additionally, the conference will review and discuss the latest progress in Islamic dialogue, evaluate the course of interfaith dialogue with adherents of other religions, and deliberate on several urgent Islamic matters to formulate scholarly resolutions on these issues.

The conference also carries the responsibility of promoting the values of Islamic brotherhood through concrete initiatives and programs with tangible impact. This edition represents a practical step toward translating the principles introduced in the first edition—through the Charter of Building Bridges Between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects—into effective, actionable programs. Additionally, it will address several of the most significant and pressing issues, particularly strengthening the foundations of intra-Islamic dialogue.

The conference will also feature the launch of the Encyclopedia of Islamic Intellectual Consensus, developed by the Center for Safeguarding Intellect in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Scholars behind the Charter of Building Bridges Between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects entrusted the center with its preparation, bringing together contributions from more than 60 Islamic scholars and intellectuals. The encyclopedia is expected to serve as a roadmap for fostering shared Islamic principles. Additionally, the conference will introduce the strategic and operational plan for the Charter of Building Bridges Between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects, accompanied by a range of initiatives and programs.
