From the unifying Qibla on the blessed land of Makkah, on the 7th of Ramadan 1445 AH, the Charter of Building Bridges between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects was issued following a historic conference. This event, held under the patronage of the #CustodianOfTheTwoHolyMosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud—may Allah safeguard him—was attended by senior muftis and scholars from various schools of thought within the Islamic Ummah.
The Charter, acknowledged by Islamic countries during the Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), articulates key principles aimed at fostering fraternity, mutual understanding, and cooperation, all within the broad framework of shared Islamic values. It also underscores the significance of continued engagement through subsequent editions of its founding conference. In this regard, the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques—may Allah reward him abundantly—has been extended to the Second Edition of the Global Conference for Building Bridges between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects. This event, scheduled for the 6th and 7th of Ramadan 1446 AH, aims to build on the achievements of its foundational efforts under the theme: 'Towards an Effective Islamic Coalition.'
