His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Alissa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, stated at the inaugural session of the Global Conference: Building Bridges Between Sects:
"We all know that difference and diversity are divine universal laws, present within Islam for centuries, characterized by their constant fluctuations between positive and negative dynamics. If awareness increases and the goals are sublime, then it is on the right path. However, if it is the latter, the hardship and severity we are familiar with become evident. The facts of history are in our hands, bearing witness and offering admonishment. The fortunate one is he who takes heed from the admonition of others."
