Makkah:
The Muslim World League (MWL) commends the successive international positions on the brutal war in the Gaza Strip, including the statement issued by 26 countries calling for an immediate end to the war, the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid, and the rejection of demographic changes in the occupied territories and the expansion of settlements.
In a statement issued by the General Secretariat of the MWL, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, emphasized that this moral and responsible stance taken by these countries—alongside the majority of the international community and United Nations organizations—sends a clear message that holds the Israeli occupation government fully accountable for the violations and horrific acts of genocide occurring in the Gaza Strip. The statement serves as an explicit condemnation of this government’s departure from global humanitarian values and the established legal and moral framework of civilization, as it continues its brutal campaign of killing, siege, starvation, and the bombing of mosques, churches, hospitals, and those seeking aid.
His Eminence described the ongoing situation in Gaza as “a grave tyranny that evokes the tragedies of history and portends the erosion of international mechanisms for justice and accountability, as the deepening humanitarian catastrophe—marked by crimes of genocide, starvation, and forced displacement—continues in plain view of the international community.”
