On the Occasion of the First Official Visit of the MWL to Kabul
Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan Hosts Official Luncheon in Honor of H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL
Kabul:
In the presence of several senior Afghan scholars, Mullah Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan, hosted an official luncheon at the Chahar Chinar Palace within the Prime Minister’s Complex in Kabul, in honor of the visit of His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, along with the accompanying delegation.
During the gathering, a broad and constructive dialogue was held, underscoring the pivotal role of the MWL and the great confidence entrusted to it—as an organization that emerged from the holy city of Makkah and was gifted to the Islamic world.
The meeting affirmed that the MWL embodies the conscience, aspirations, and concerns of the Islamic peoples, and that under its inclusive and unifying banner stand the scholars of the Islamic Ummah, representing various schools of thought and sects—making it a comprehensive league that embraces all.
The meeting also highlighted the historic charters issued by the MWL from Makkah, the Qibla of Muslims, under the generous patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud—may Allah protect him. These include the Charter of Makkah, endorsed by 1,200 muftis and scholars, and the Charter of Building Bridges Between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects, endorsed by leading scholars from across the Islamic world.
