The Muslim World League Condemns Israeli Knesset’s Approval to Impose “Israeli Sovereignty” Over the West Bank

Makkah:

The Muslim World League (MWL) has strongly condemned the Israeli Knesset’s approval of the declaration calling for the imposition of “Israeli sovereignty” over the West Bank. The occupation government persists in its provocations against the Arab and Islamic nations, as well as all peace- and justice-loving peoples across the globe, demonstrating blatant disdain for all laws and norms and deliberately undermining every effort to stop the war and achieve peace.

In a statement issued by the MWL’s General Secretariat, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, denounced the Israeli occupation government’s ongoing policy of disregarding the lives, dignity, and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, as well as its violations of all international and humanitarian values, laws, and conventions in the Palestinian territories. He stressed that this extremist government, through its criminal behavior, has become a major obstacle to achieving a just and comprehensive peace and the stability that all parties in the region aspire to.

His Excellency reiterated the justice and centrality of the Palestinian cause in the Arab and Islamic conscience and in the hearts of all fair-minded people, affirming the historical and legal rights of the Palestinian people—rights that no force or unilateral action can undermine or take away, by God’s will. He further called upon the international community to adopt a sincere and serious stand in assuming its legal and moral responsibilities to end the humanitarian tragedy faced by the Palestinian people and to support their legitimate right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
