Makkah:
The Muslim World League (MWL) has expressed its strong hope—shared by the Arab and Islamic nations and all peoples of the world who support justice and peace—for the success of the high-level international conference, chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in partnership with the French Republic, which aims to resolve the Palestinian issue through peaceful means and implement the two-state solution.
In a statement issued by the General Secretariat, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, stated: “This historic event, held this week at the United Nations headquarters in New York City with broad international participation, restores hope for reviving the peace process in accordance with decisive international legitimacy resolutions and the firmly established historical and legal rights of the Palestinian people, which together represent the only path to achieving a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in the region.”
His Eminence added: “All nations must assume their historical responsibilities at this pivotal moment in the prolonged injustice faced by the Palestinian people. They must seize the opportunity provided by this conference to stand on the right side of history, adopt a responsible and legitimate stance in support of truth and justice, uphold international legitimacy, and contribute to ending this painful humanitarian tragedy and its grave consequences for the region, the international community, and the world at large.”
His Excellency, the Secretary-General of the MWL, affirmed the League’s and the Islamic world’s appreciation for the steadfast position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the Palestinian issue—particularly its tireless and pivotal efforts under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the close follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister—may Allah protect them—through the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, launched by the Kingdom, as well as its chairmanship of the Joint Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee.
His Eminence reiterated the justness of the Palestinian cause and its centrality to the Arab and Islamic conscience, as well as to every living conscience, based on firmly established historical and legal rights.
