The Muslim World League Warns the International Community of the Dire Consequences of the Official Declaration of “Famine” in Gaza City

Makkah:
The Muslim World League (MWL) has warned the international community of the grave consequences of the Israeli occupation government’s continued criminal practices and horrific violations, committed in blatant disregard for international and humanitarian laws and norms. It highlighted, in this context, the shocking official declaration that Gaza City has entered a state of famine, as reported by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC).

In a statement issued by the MWL’s General Secretariat, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, the Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, stressed that this extremist government poses a grave threat to the Palestinian people in particular, as well as to the region and the international community at large. He noted that it remains the greatest obstacle to all efforts aimed at ending the war, protecting civilians, and achieving the lasting, just, and comprehensive peace sought for the region.

His Eminence renewed the MWL’s urgent appeal to the international community to assume its moral and legal responsibilities, to take an immediate and decisive stand to end the famine and genocide inflicted upon the people of Gaza, and to deter the occupation government’s war machine, which continues its tyranny and disregard for the lives, rights, and human dignity of the Palestinian people.
