The Muslim World League Commends the UN General Assembly's Decision to Adopt the "New York Declaration" on the "Two-State Solution"

Makkah:
The Muslim World League (MWL) highly commends today’s decision by the UN General Assembly to adopt the "New York Declaration," issued by the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, which was sponsored and chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in partnership with the French Republic.

In a statement issued by the MWL’s General Secretariat, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, congratulated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the entire Arab and Islamic world, and all nations that value justice and peace on this historic decision. He affirmed that it represents a victory for truth, justice, and international legitimacy, and marks a pivotal moment in the course of the Palestinian cause and the historical and legal rights of the Palestinian people.

Dr. Al-Issa emphasized the MWL’s appreciation, on behalf of the Islamic peoples, for the steadfast stance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the Palestinian issue, particularly its tireless and pivotal efforts under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, with the close follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister — may Allah safeguard them. These efforts include the launch of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution by the Kingdom, its chairmanship of the Joint Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee, and its sponsorship and chairmanship of the International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution in partnership with the French Republic. These endeavors culminated in the historic decision of the United Nations General Assembly to adopt its conclusive document by an overwhelming majority.
