The Muslim World League Affirms its Welcome and Support for the Outcomes of the Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit in Qatar

Makkah:
The Muslim World League (MWL) has affirmed its welcome and support for the final statement issued by the Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit, held in Doha to address the Israeli attack on the State of Qatar.

In a statement issued by the MWL’s General Secretariat, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, commended the values of solidarity and unity reflected in the summit and its statement in confronting this aggression against the State of Qatar, considering it an aggression against all Arab and Islamic countries. He also categorically rejected attempts to justify this aggression under any pretext.

His Excellency further noted the summit’s outcomes, which hold the Israeli government responsible for undermining any prospects for peace in the region through its aggressive policies, crimes of genocide, ethnic cleansing, starvation, blockade, settlement expansion, and expansionist agenda—policies culminating in this treacherous aggression against Qatari territory. This assault, carried out while Qatar plays the role of principal mediator in efforts to secure a ceasefire and end the war on Gaza, represents a dangerous escalation and an attack on diplomatic efforts to restore peace.

Dr. Al-Issa emphasized the importance of the statement’s rejection of the Israeli occupation government’s rhetoric, which exploits and promotes “Islamophobia” in an attempt to legitimize its continued violations of international law and distort the image of Arab and Islamic countries.

He also commended the statement’s welcome of the UN General Assembly’s adoption of the “New York Declaration” on the implementation of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, describing it as a clear expression of the international will in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. In this context, he commended the efforts of both the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the French Republic in the adoption of this declaration. He further welcomed the upcoming two-state solution conference, to be co-chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the French Republic in New York on 22 September 2025, and called for concerted international efforts to secure broad recognition of the independent State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital.
