This evening:
H.E. Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa , Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, was the keynote speaker at this year's Misk Global Forum.
Points H.E. addressed in the Forum session and accompanying press statement:
- Empowering youth is a fundamental guarantee of their ability to engage with the world while preserving their values; their identity represents "firm principles," and their openness to the world empowers them to reach new horizons.
- This empowerment is based on our national values, which are founded on our religious principles.
- The task of empowerment is a collective one, beginning with the family, extending through education, and culminating in platforms of influence, foremost among them the local and international efforts undertaken by Misk, which, according to our international survey, has become one of the most prominent and effective youth platforms worldwide.
- Young people need inspiring role models. The youth of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia possess a unique quality that they can be proud of globally: a system of values and action whose youthful spirit has been translated into national reality and international reach by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, may Allah protect him.
- I advise our youth, who have great and well-deserved ambition:
- First: To understand their value framework and translate it into behavior, and to realize that they are ambassadors for their religion and their country. This places upon them a religious and national responsibility.
- Second: To focus on their national goals and beware of anything that distracts them from their goals. Patriotism is loyalty and giving.
- Third: To release their creativity, for today's world is racing in the fields of creativity and innovation.
- We can preserve our identity in the world of artificial intelligence by enriching its content with these values within the framework of ethical guidelines, according to what is now called the ethics of artificial intelligence.
- At the Islamic Fiqh Council, we are working on developing Sharia-compliant frameworks for artificial intelligence that reflect the teachings of our Islamic faith regarding the content of this digital mind.
- Religious sentiment should not be abstract or random, otherwise it will be taken out of context and become negative. Rather, it must be fortified by complete awareness.
- Religious guidance must accommodate all circumstances, which vary from place to place around the world. This is in accordance with the Sharia principle that fatwas and rulings differ according to time, place, and circumstances. Therefore, charters and statements from the Muslim World League have emphasized the danger of issuing fatwas and religious guidance outside of their specific circumstances, which influence the Sharia ruling.
