The Muslim World League Condemns Israeli Violations Undermining Stability and Peace, and Calls for Implementing International Resolutions and the “New York Declaration” for the Two-State Solution

The Muslim World League (MWL) has strongly condemned the grave violations that the Israeli occupation government continues to commit against the Palestinian people—especially the people of Gaza—as well as against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic. The MWL stated that these actions reflect a dangerous and barbaric approach that infringes upon the sovereignty of states, violates international laws and norms, undermines regional security and stability, and jeopardizes efforts to achieve peace.

In this context, the MWL, in a statement issued today, noted the international condemnation of the occupation’s violations of Syrian sovereignty and the threats posed to Syria’s security and stability.

Furthermore, the MWL welcomed the significant and broad international consensus reflected in the UN General Assembly’s adoption of several resolutions supporting the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, and confronting the unlawful practices of the occupation government, including human-rights violations and settlement practices.

His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, stressed that this international consensus clearly expresses an unequivocal and overwhelming rejection and condemnation of these grave violations committed by the occupation government without deterrence. He stressed the imperative of upholding the international community’s determination and implementing its relevant resolutions regarding the Palestinian cause—foremost among them the New York Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, advanced internationally through efforts led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in partnership with the French Republic, as the only path toward establishing lasting, comprehensive, and just peace in the region.
