The Muslim World League (MWL) Commends the Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice Regarding Israel's Obligations in the Occupied Palestinian Territories
Makkah:
The Muslim World League (MWL) has commended the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which reaffirmed Israel's obligations under international humanitarian law in the occupied Palestinian territories. This includes ensuring that the inhabitants of the occupied Palestinian land receive the essential supplies for their daily lives, respecting the prohibition of using starvation as a method of warfare, prohibiting the forcible transfer and deportation of people in the occupied territories, and facilitating humanitarian aid and cooperation with international organizations, especially the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
In a statement issued by the MWL’s General Secretariat, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, reiterated the MWL's urgent call to the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities to compel the Israeli occupying government to comply with international law and UN resolutions, and to put an end to its ongoing disregard for the lives, dignity, and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, as well as its continuous violations of all human values, laws, and international norms in the Palestinian territories.
